United with Ukraine, from Madrid

Humanity before indifference. Medical aid, food, clothes and the right to a normal life again.

The call of 24 February

Roman Zaitsev, president of Unidos con Ucrania, woke to his father’s voice: the war had begun and he had to go home to defend the country. On his doorstep, broken, he decided fear for his family was not enough. Help had to be organised for everyone it could reach.

“Juntos con Ucrania” was born, today “Unidos con Ucrania”. Different volunteers, one compass: humanity. Unity, frankness and equality.

Mission

Around 10 million Ukrainians lost their homes or were forced to leave. No one can give back the exact home they loved. Warmth, medicine, clothes and rights can be given back.

Priority: children, the elderly, people with disabilities, the sick and the displaced.

What has already been done

Trailers, corridors and alliances

First month

About 100 trailers, 15–20 tonnes each, left for Ukraine. Medicine, food and clothes sorted by volunteers in Madrid.

Allies

Embassy of Ukraine in Spain, Community of Madrid (over a thousand tonnes managed), Isabel Zendal Hospital, TXT (62 trailers) and Transfesa.

On the ground

Corridors from Odesa (Mykolaiv, Kherson, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Kryvyi Rih, Kyiv) and from Uzhhorod northwards. Distribution in Lviv and Ternopil.

This site does not replace Unidos con Ucrania. Visit www.aucu.es to donate, volunteer or check collection points.

War, survival, motive

Surviving is not only not dying. It is keeping the language, the carol, the grandmother’s recipe, the child’s school and the idea that winter ends. Every 24891 fee is a reminder: Madrid does not look away.
